Astral Wind Is For Sale

(Due to medical issues we are reluctantly selling Astral Wind)

Present Location - Secured on our mooring at Mt. Hartman Bay, The Caribbean Island of Grenada:  

We left BVI for Grenada, mainly to avoid Hurricane Season.  (Been there, done that and not fun!)  We ended up purchasing a safe mooring in a beautiful bay as a place to hang-our-hat between voyages.  We soon fell in love with the Caribbean, in general.  We had no real plans to leave Grenada and the Grenadines for quite some time.  

We have found that Grenada has great weather, fantastic sailing, wonderful people, fairly inexpensive, beautiful seas and reefs for snorkeling and diving.  While sailing the Atlantic windward side of Grenada the fishing areas are close and more wind for great sailing.  The mellow sailing on the Caribbean leeward side of Grenada has great diving, the snorkeling is awesome and there are underwater parks to visit. 

The Grenada Cruising Community has a very informative VHF Grenada Crusiers Net Channel 68 and Grenada Crusiers page on Facebook  http://www.facebook.com/grenada.cruisers  full of fellow Cruisers with open information and friendly banter.  Turtles do surface around our mooring to say hello throughout the day... incredible stars at night and colorful luminescence in the water for fun and colorful night swiming...

Grenada is one of the best experiences overall for us while cruisingthe arribbean, in general.  Grenada is truly a island of beauty and friendship.  An island oasis with experiences and friendships that we will remember for ever.

Pricing and options: We would prefer to sell Astral Wind as a fully-found turn-key live aboard cruiser but recognize that some potential buyers are not looking for a boat for this purpose and would not want to bear the cost for fitting a boat out for this purpose. 
Specifications:  This page will give you information concerning details of our Owners Version, 2003 Robertson & Caine, Leopard 38 Catamaran; that I have been compiling for quite some time.

Documents:  A collection of Astral Wind equipment documnts.  I have the original hard copy documents for most items on-board.  I like them in pdf format so I can zoom the text and details... I can also print them out to take to the location that I am working.  Very handy, at times... plus a backup of documents. 

Compromises and Beauty: I was recently asked by someone in a sailing group if there was anything I'd change about Astral Wind. 

Major Projects:  (Under Construction) This section of the web site covers either major installations, refits or modifications that call for more extensive discussion.  It's here you'll find our take on;

Hints:  (Under Constructyion) Almost all cruising boats have some minor modifications to improve safety or comfort or convenience.  This page discusses many of the smaller modifications we've made to Astral Wind, generally things that can be accomplished in a short time and at relatively low cost.
 
Green Power:  (yep, under construction)This is clean power time... and what keeps us away from the docks for months.  No need for Astral Wind to have a noisy generator and exhaust smell to charge our batteries.  Astral Wind is equipped with 4-140amp Solar panels and a 200 amp wind generator.  She also has a Spectra Water Maker so we never need to make special trips to a marina to buy water or collect rain.  Actually, with our 4-gel cell no maintenance house batteries, Xantrax power monitoring system plus separate starting battery systems means   we have no lack of power generation or storage.  "I actually put in a switch to turn off the solar panels to exercise the batteries during the spring, summer and early fall months."  Basically, we cannot use all of the power that the Green System generates.  We were considering a Microwave Oven, which would be nice.

*** With Sale Option II, the broker does not want much above items on-board.  The boat must be neat and empty.  Which makes since...  All items must be sold or donated prior to broker taking over.  Most items you will need to purchase yourself...
